Sekai Project, rising publisher and licenser of a growing roster of games and visual novels has unveiled their first official company mascot, Sena Aozora, to commemorate their third anniversary. This announcement was made shortly after their successful show and live panel discussion at Anime Central where they announced two of their newest titles, 2236 A.D. and MAGIC X SPIRAL.
Sena is illustrated by the artist zpolice. Originally from Thailand, the artist now lives in Japan and has illustrated light novels, card games, CD jacket designs and more. Prior to the implementation of a mascot character, there had been a lot of discussion on how Sekai Project would celebrate their anniversary. Their hope was to find a creative way to promote their brand.
Chris Ling, the co-founder and head of licensing at Sekai Projects, states:
I wanted something that really represented Sekai Project and the idea of a tour guide seemed to click. In my many travels through Japan I would see uniformed tour guides, with a little flag in their hand, taking groups of tourists around, and the idea of someone guiding fans into the world of games, visual novels, and beyond just took off.
As Sekai Project grows, fans of their work can expect to see more of Sena Aozora since she will become the face for many of their promotional materials. It is their hope that she will help draw attention to their unique titles and products in the future.
