Pokémon Go Announces In-Game Halloween Event

Pokémon Go Halloween Event

Pokémon GO players are invited to enjoy exciting treats from Niantic Labs, Inc. and The Pokémon Company International during the game’s first in-game event this Halloween. The event runs from October 26 to November 1, where there will be increased global encounters of the spookiest pokémon in the game: Drowzee, Gastly, Gengar, Golbat, Haunter, Hypno, and Zubat. In addition to the increased global encounters, trainers will have the opportunity to earn more Pokémon Candy while they search for Pokémon. Pokémon Candies allow trainers to evolve and strengthen their Pokémon.

Event Goodies:

  • Increased global encounters of spooky Pokémon
  • Each Pokémon caught will earn trainers six candies (2X the normal amount)
  • Pokémon can be transferred to the professor for two candies rather than one
  • Buddy Pokémon will award four candies instead of one
  • Tatsuo Nomura, senior product manager at Niantic, Inc. expressed, “We would like to trick-or-treat in our own special way by giving Trainers the chance to catch more Pokémon and earn extra Candy this Halloween.” J.C. Smith, the senior director of consumer marketing at The Pokémon Company International added, “We anticipate seeing many Pokémon-themed costumes during this anniversary year, and now Trainers can add Pokémon GO to their trick-or-treat route to receive Candy and add some of the spookier Pokémon to their Pokédex.”
